Volunteer

Look after your town's board

As volunteers join, each one looks after their own town's board. We are looking for people who already know the families in their town and can give a few minutes a week so the board stays friendly and useful.

Offer to help

What volunteers do

  • Tidy up afterwards. Hide a notice in your town that does not belong, or correct one that needs it. Moderation is cleaning up, never a gate: nobody asks a volunteer before they post, reply or ask for help.
  • Help with the Helpline. When someone needs to reach another town, our staff may ask a volunteer there to help.
  • Start small. You can begin by keeping an eye on your town's board and telling us what needs attention, and take on more when you are ready.

What it asks of you

It is unpaid, and it fits around your life: a few minutes a week, mostly on your phone. You never read anyone's private messages, you see a member's email address only where you need it to tidy their note, and you are never asked to judge who belongs.

Offer to help

We reply to this address. Only our staff see it.

The town you would help with, or the one your community is in.

What would you like to do? (required)

A few words is plenty: how long you have been here, a group you are part of, or why you would like to help.

A person on our staff reads every offer. You will hear from us by email, either way, usually within two weeks.
