Take part. Do not take over.

Associations, cultural and religious organisations, volunteer groups, families, informal circles and businesses are all welcome participants in India Abroad. None of them owns a locality, controls access to its people, or speaks for everyone there.

There is no membership tier, no sponsored placement, and no badge that puts one organisation above another. If you want to help where you are, this page is how to start the conversation.

Ways to take part

All of them are open to any organisation. None of them buys standing.

Help moderate locally

Local organisations can help keep public content in their town within the community standards. Moderating governs what is posted, never who is allowed to take part. It is a responsibility, not authority over anyone.

Support the platform

Contributions keep access open, protect privacy, support volunteers, and extend local connection to more places. Many companies match employee giving to a registered 501(c)(3). Giving buys no visibility and no standing.

Be a provider people can find

Businesses and organisations that serve a locality can be findable by the people who live there. It is a way to be useful nearby, not a paid directory listing and not a privileged position.

What taking part does not include

  • No exclusive tier, founding circle, or wall of names.
  • No verified badge, ranking, or preferential placement.
  • No representation: no organisation speaks for the people in a locality, or for India Abroad.
  • No control over who may join a locality, because nobody joins one. People are already there.

IndiaAbroad.org provides and maintains the shared platform. The community itself belongs to the people who participate in it.
